Who Will Win The 2009 Masters Golf Tournament?

Here in the northeast golf doesn't officially begin until the Masters Golf Tournament. Watching the Masters brings back that urge and addiction that was packed away in your mind during the winter months....It's time. The feeling to get out on the course is overwhelming. How did I get through those winter months?

I'm sure this year's tournament will be just as exciting as in the past. But who will be in contention? And who will win?

The obvious choices are Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Retief Goosen and Padraig Harrington.

But we can't count out VJ Singh, Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els, and Jose Maria Olazabal. They are great pressure players and always come with their 'A' game.

For some reason there are a few golfers that always play well in the Masters: Mike Weir,  Rocco Mediate, Justin Leonard, Stewart Cink, Kenny Perry, and Jim Furyk to name a few. Could one of them be wearing the green jacket on Sunday?

For the past two years Augusta National has produced relatively unknown champions in Zach Johnson and Trevor Immelman.  Will we see similar results this year?

And what about the young guns on tour. Sean O'Hair has been on fire. But something tells me a bad experience with a Tiger this past Sunday has cooled him down. Nick Watney has been very steady this season and can't be ruled out of contention.

There is nothing more exciting than to watch an elder champion in contention going into the final round. Mark O'Meara, Fred Couples, and Ian Woosnam still have the game and all have played well in the Masters. Could they pull off the unbelievable?

What about the truly unbelievable? Can Ben Crenshaw, age 57, or Tom Watson, age 59, pull off "The Miracle at Augusta?"

My pick to win the 2009 Masters Golf Tournament....Jim Furyk
