Heavy Putter

The Heavy Putter has been getting a lot of hype lately. Will the Heavy Putter make you a better putter?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It all comes down to a matter of feel. Feel is important when putting and each golfer has a different feel.

The Heavy Putter weighs twice as much as the conventional putter. It has counter weights installed in the grip ends of the shaft. This promotes the use of the larger arm muscles and eliminates the wrists. This is great for golfers who have the yips on short putts or are too wristy.

It also produces a smooth and natural pendulum stroke. If you get this putter started on the right line you will have positive results.

Included is a tip-weight kit which is found in the original and matte series allowing you to adjust the balance point to match your own grip pressure.

I played three rounds of golf with it and let 3 other golfing buddies give it a try. I like it and believe it could have a positive impact on most golfer's game. I, however, am sticking with my Odyssey White Hot 2 Ball Putter simply because I don't need to fix what isn't broken.

We pretty much agreed on the following:

• Great club for short putts
• Had problems with distance control on long putts
• Poor alignment sightlines
• Produces great tempo and pendulum motion
• The ability to alter the weighting is a huge bonus
• Much easier to control if you keep it close to your torso
• Too heavy for some players

This will change your putting style. You will need to spend some time on the practice green to get adjusted to the feel of this putter.
