Ladies Callaway Drivers

One thing I noticed while reviewing ladies used drivers is that Callaway Drivers are at the top when it comes to ladies golf equipment. Callaway drivers are specifically designed for a woman's swing.

The new FT-9 driver is Callaway's newest model. This driver was made to expand the success of the FT-3 and FT-5 models by giving you even more distance. But it comes at a hefty $399.

If you're looking to save a few dollars then the FT-3 and FT-5 are good choices. The FT-5 has three center of gravity configurations. So you want to choose accordingly. If you have a fade then buy the FT-5 Driver that produces a fade. If you have a draw then buy the FT-5 Driver that produces a draw. If you have a neutral swing, then buy the FT-5 neutral Driver. Both the FT-3 and FT-5 are forgiving and will add distance to your game.

Another good choice in ladies used Callaway drivers is the FT-Ι. What Callaway did with this driver is position the weight to the extreme corners of the clubhead which makes this club very forgiving. It was also designed for increased ball speed and distance.

And let's not forget about the Womens Big Bertha Driver. With a longer shaft and the weight positioned in the center, this club was designed for one thing - to hit long tee shots.

The loft of these drivers range from 9° to 13°.

What is loft? The general presumption is that the lower the loft of the driver, the further you will hit the ball. It keeps the ball low and therefore you will get more roll on the ball.

However, during a recent study the following was true: At a club speed of 65 and 75 mph, the 13° loft or above was longest and the 9° loft was shortest; at 85 through 115 mph, the 11° was longest.

So what does all this mean? Nothing for some and everything for others. If you are using a 9° loft driver and are satisfied with the results then continue playing with that club. However, if you aren't getting distance then do yourself a favor and add loft.

Ladies Callaway fairway woods such as the Big Bertha Warbird and Hawk Eye remain popular selections with lady golfers even though they've been on the market for many years. These clubs are lightweight and extremely easy to swing giving you the confidence in hitting shots that you normally wouldn't hit with a fairway wood.

The ladies Big Bertha Warbird is extremely forgiving and with Callaway's patented Warbird soleplate allows you to get the ball airborne quickly. Playing shots out of the rough is no problem with this club. The clubhead is very light allowing you to generate lots of swing speed. Another great pick is the ladies Callaway X fairway wood. This club has a unique X-sole design which results in better club alignment. The internal weight position makes it easier to get the ball in the air quickly and is also very forgiving on miss-hits. This club has a slightly deeper face which gives you a bigger hitting area, possibly providing you with some much needed confidence. The way this club is designed, it lets you go down under the ball which is very helpful in the rough or tight lies. You'll get ideal ball flight for each individual loft of wood.

Ladies Taylormade Drivers are innovative in design and technology making them top notch selections in ladies golf equipment. Taylormade has long been a name associated with ladies drivers.

Three drivers come to mind when reviewing ladies Taylormade drivers. The Taylormade 460cc Burner Driver, the 320Ti, and the r7 CGB Max.

The Taylormade 460cc Burner driver is light-weight in design promoting a faster swing speed for added distance and accuracy. Strategic weighting makes the club stable and resistant to twisting at impact. It is very forgiving on miss-hits.

The ladies 320Ti Driver looks and feels good with a huge sweetspot. This club was made for all lady golfers, from beginners to seasoned veterans. One thing about this club is that it has a smaller head which allows for higher accuracy. It has the control of a wedge. There is nothing to hate about this driver - you'll get the distance of a big headed driver with more accuracy.

The ladies Taylormade r7 CGB Max Driver is something to behold. It has a unique triangular club head which moves the center of gravity deep in the club head allowing for greater distance and forgiveness. It is extremely lightweight which gives you more control and greater club head speed. It also has three movable weights which allows you to move the center of gravity to a fade or draw or to counteract your natural swing. This is a great club for courses that have holes set up for a fade or draw.

Taylormade has some great fairway woods designed specifically for a woman's swing - The Burner, R5 Dual Titanium, r7 CGB Max and the r7 CGB Max Rescue Hybird.

The ladies Taylormade Burner fairway woods are lightweight, long shafted clubs. This produces a faster swing speed for added distance. These clubs are very forgiving with the highest MOI (moment of inertia) than any fairway wood on the market today. What does this mean? The higher the MOI of the head about its vertical CG (center of gravity) axis, the less the head will twist in response to an off-center hit, and the less distance will be lost from that off-center hit. The ladies Burner produces a long, high ball flight. Come in 3, 5, 7 wood.

The Taylormade R5 Dual Titanium fairway woods are designed with two rear weights which are called Taylormade Launch Control weights. This type of design promotes high ball flight and a soft landing. This also increases the clubhead's MOI allowing off-center hits to travel almost as far as solid hits. Also the position of these weights allows you to hit a high, long ball. The shaft is light weight which enables you to add distance to your shot. Come in 3, 5, 7 wood.

Taylormade's r7 CGB Max fairway woods are similar to the r7 CG Max driver in that the clubface is triangular which promotes a low and deep center of gravity making for high, long shots. And as with the driver, these woods have 3 movable weights which allows you to change the trajectory of up to 22 yards according to your swing - produce a fade or draw for more control and accuracy. The r7 CGB Max is very forgiving and easy to hit, a real confidence builder.

A hybrid, Taylormade's r7 CGB Max Rescue is similar to the r7 CGB Max fairway woods with its triangular clubface. The MOI is boosted in this fairway wood allowing for more forgiveness on off-center hits. The r7 CGB MAX Rescue hybrids are available in lofts of 19, 22 and 25 degrees.
